ABOUT

Based in the southwest Arizona desert, Michael Glasser's love and exuberance for nature comes through in each of the photographs he takes. Whether he is traversing the jungles of Costa Rica snapping pictures of eyelash vipers or chasing his five dogs around the yard with his camera in hand, Mike’s sense of fun and joy comes through in every shot.

Born in Grand Junction, Colorado, Mike and his family moved when he was three to Denver, where he spent his formative years hiking, biking, skiing, camping and just living outdoors. With the Rocky Mountains as his playground, Mike’s appreciation for nature was fortified in his youth and continued to grow as he studied mechanical engineering at Colorado State University in beautiful Fort Collins, and eventually moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2000.

Even though the soutwest desert heat was initially rough on this native Coloradan, Mike never shied away from outdoor adventure. His love for the Sonoran desert and its flora and fauna grew as he explored the terrain of the southwest along with its towering Sky Islands.  Mike is never far from his camera, because he knows the next great picture isn’t necessarily a drive or hike away; it can be as close as the voluminous ocotillo down the street or the spiny little lizard in the vegetable garden in the backyard.
